Carter's Mountain Orchard

A couple of weeks ago, my sweet guy and I took a road trip to his hometown.  He took me to the apple orchard that I have been wanting to go to for so long.  Now we just need to go in the Fall when all of the yummy apples are in season!

Once again, I am oh so thankful for him and our many adventures.

Adventures | Alta Vista with Alaina

Reunions with my sweet soul sisters are always excellent.  They're worth the long drives and last minute planning.  These friendships are something that I believe only come once in lifetime, and I am thankful for them.

A few weekends ago, I spent Saturday afternoon venturing through Alta Vista with Alaina.  We drank coffee, got vinyls for a steal, and frolicked through the park.

The Christmas party is right around the corner and I could not be more excited.

Weekend Homework Breaks: RVA

Sorry it has been a while everybody!  I had hectic weeks the last two weeks.  I was sick most of the week, which was quite the bummer, but hopefully that won't happen again because it is actually warm outside!  Praise Jesus!  and it is almost 7pm as I type this and it is still light outside.  Oh man, I just love the spring!  

Anyway... last week I also had a really big paper due, and it was probably the hardest paper that I have ever written in my whole college career.  I am beyond relieved that that baby is done!  Not to mention that I am currently on spring break!  Whaddup?!  

Can I just say that I am so thankful that the Lord is ALWAYS working in our lives, even when we don't see it.  I cannot wait for the things that will be in my future, but I have been learning not to miss what He is doing RIGHT NOW in my life.  I don't want to take a single day for granted.  

Now to end that short rant, I thought I'd share a few photos from last weekend with you all.  I came home for the weekend with my friend Kawin, and to be honest, we actually did homework most of the time.  To stay sane, we took a few breaks and made an adventure out of what would normally be a boring homework day.

Tomorrow is Monday, the day of the week that most people dread.  I'll just tell you what I tell my girls at curfew checks on Sunday nights...

RVA: Brown Island, Canal Walk, and Shockoe Slip

 There are just some things in this pretty town of mine that bring me such joy.  These places are special because they're not the "big" usual tourist spots.  Being able to just walk along the canal and on the island was so peaceful.  It is such a quiet, pretty place.  Yes, we did run into a couple of runners, old couples, and homeless men, but that made it even more unique.  Fellow Richmond enjoying our city.  Also, I've become pretty good at navigating downtown if I do say so myself.  

First, we went to Tredegar Iron Works and Brown's Island.  Afterwards I told Em I had a surprise stop for her.  That's when I brought her to her heaven, a bookstore.  We stopped in at the Antique store next door, which was where I realized that it's not just crowds of people that make me nervous/anxious, but also lots of STUFF.  Note to self: DON'T go to a crowded antique store.

We also went to Urban Farmhouse.  We got grown-up grilled cheese and mochas.  It was quite yummy, especially the carrots (I love bunny food).

I just love adventure days.  We do live in RVA, after all.
