I'm such a free-spirit and adventurer that my little heart was aching after not being able to capture the beauty that is always around me.

The night before this solo mini-adventure I had just poured my heart out to my boyfriend about how I felt like my creativity and passions were being squelched and I felt so trapped and discouraged because of it.  He sweetly encouraged me, as he always does, to do what I can now with what I have. It may seem as if I may never see my dreams come to complete fruition, but I can take small steps now to get me to where I dream of being later in life.

I've been praying lately for a clearer vision for my future and how it will incorporate the passions I've been given me.

I'm still trying to figure it out and it may take a while.  But I know my next step, and that is what I will work on for now.  Until that day comes when I am getting to do what I love full-time, I will make the most of what I have today for it is a blessing.

RVA Days | Rocket Fizz

Before I moved back to my hometown, I came home for the weekend to pray and see if this was really where the Lord wanted me to be. and while, obviously he confirmed that in many ways, I was able to go on a much needed spontaneous adventure with my little brother. We went to the new soda pop shop in town, Rocket Fizz. I have never in my life seen so many different kinds of soda. I need to go back and try a new one, because I was somewhat of a lame-o and just got Ale81 because it reminds me of KY. But really, that trip changed my life, so why wouldn't I want to reminisce every once in a while?

RVA Days | Night Life + Hospitality

 A few old snaps from my wandering about my hometown city at night.  Naturally, I made a friend with a homeless man and bought him a pizza.  If that doesn't give you a taste of my spontaneity and ability to make friends with strangers, I don't know what does.  Not to mention my love language of food, namely pizza.

 This night was filled with chai lattes, challenging blogs, and learning good lessons.  

I had JUST read this blog about hospitality and the difference between how we often view it in our time and culture and the biblical representation of it.  Hospitality is something I really enjoy and have been gifted with, so I was very challenged by this particular post.  Little did I know, just minutes later that I would have the chance to carry out the biblical truth I had just read about.

RVA Days | Family & Food

Finally shaking the dust off of Charlotte has been such a stress-reliever lately.  I made a quick one night trip back to my parents home in Richmond this past weekend and we went to dinner with my grandparents.  It was so refreshing and comforting to be able to spend time with my family after having such a stressful, worrisome week.  And to top off the trip, we just HAD to get donuts.

My sweet momma's encouragement.  She reminds me of the Lord's faithfulness when my faith is weak.  She listens to my fears, dreams, and lets me invade her bubble while she's working.  She is the best of the best.

It was a short visit, but a great one nonetheless.  Good food and a great family are what it's all about.

RVA Days | Picnic at Maymont

How I wish every summer afternoon were like this.  It feels so good to be eating healthy food again.  Also, catching up with this lady is always a treat.  She is a kindred spirit through and through and every time we hang out it's like we were never apart. 

Currently packing to head to Lynchburg and then back to camp on Friday!  I have a feeling that I'm going to be stretched and surprised in these next few weeks.
